i was trying to search for a gift for my wife, and then randomly stumbled onto this website. so, i decided to try it out for myself. funnily enough, my wife was looking at this same website for a gift for me.
i subscribed to the black edition- $99 + shipping/handling/taxes. that's closer to $ 119.
have received 4 watches so far. 2 with metal straps and 2 with leather- all to my preferences. the metal straps need atleast 1-2 links removed to fit snug. the leather straps a little disappointing since they can barely fit my wrist with being in the last pin hole.
overall, i think its a good idea for a person to keep collecting watches or gift to friends/ family. not too sure, if i will continue the subscription indefinitely.
so, i joined the watchgang for a quarterly platinum account. i recieved a volare dieci otto nero for april 2019 batch. it is a nice watch. my initial reaction was to offer it for sale and see the market. being an unknown microbrand, the real value (demand-supply dynamics) of the watch is much less than inidcated by the manufacturer. is it worth the subscription fee? maybe you will get a watch you like more at a lower price and more predictable market value. but the watch as it is feels good quality. i am not a watch expert to value it. but looking at the specs, i could have gotten the same with a lesser cost. what's a positive take for me from the experience were the thrill and anticipating the surprise. plus a good watch that i am growing to like. if you are in to get a specific kind of a watch, this is not for you.
i have only gotten one watch so far, but it far exceeded the value, and quality i was expecting. very high quality, tons of compliments on my new watch i can't believe how little i spend every month and wearing this watch i hear things such as "wearing that thing just makes you look like you are someone important." and i'm not even in the highest tier level. thought i would only stay with watch gang for a few months but i think i'm hooked. i'm about to go find a stand for the rest of the watches i get so i can show case them as a center piece in my closet. i wasnt much of a watch guy before this. the only reason i took a star off was because of how the payments work. if i were to ever cancel i would have to do so two weeks before my next watch but i don't foresee that actually being a problem since the only thing i see myself doing in the future is probably upgrading to see how the high rollers live!
watch gang is pretty cool if you love watches but i have a feeling that some of the "brands" that they use aren't real. i believe that they create brands so that they can up their profits on certain months. for example, compare volare watches to aquanero, they are so similar its almost painful. if they were a little bit smarter about it they could have just used one brand name and create 2 different lines.
